Founded in 1998, National New Play Network (NNPN) is an alliance of professional theaters that collaborate in innovative ways to develop, produce, and extend the life of new plays.

In 2014, NNPN sought a revitalized brand identity and website to better reflect its role as a leading national alliance for new plays and playwrights. We joined the project in partnership with the web development firm Quilted, co-leading a collaborative discovery process and brand and UX strategy to modernize NNPN’s visual voice and more clearly communicate its mission, programs, and impact to audiences across the theatre field. We then led the execution of the UX, visual, and brand design.

The resulting brand system featured a bold, contemporary logo and a vibrant color palette. For the website, we designed a streamlined information architecture that makes it easy for visitors to navigate NNPN’s programs, learn about its member theatres, and explore its national impact. A modular, responsive structure ensures content remains clear, accessible, and easy for staff to maintain as the organization and its initiatives evolve.

Together, the new brand and website improved clarity and engagement while giving NNPN flexible tools to tell its story more effectively.
